Wedding Dress Quilt Completed for Marissa

Finished another wedding dress quilt!

Marissa sent me a gorgeous dress, with a satin underskirt with lace covered netting, and lots of pearls and other glittery things.  Here is a picture of the dress (not the bride).

I deconstructed the dress and used the satin underskirt for the top of the quilt. Then I covered almost the entire quilt with the gorgeous lace from the quilt, sewing around all those edges!  I machine quilted designs in the blank areas.

We decided to make a scalloped border on the quilt, I think it really finished off the quilt, a straight edge wouldn't have been as elegant! The finished quilt is 48" x 52".

Here is the full quilt -- it really is square, the picture is deceptive :)

Completed Quilts -- Catching up

This double wedding ring quilt was commissioned as a wedding present.  The bride's colors were white, blue and black and I used solid fabrics in those colors.   It is a bed runner, approximately 110" long, and is placed across the foot of the bed.

I quilted a motif in the center of each "ring" and put feathers in the other white areas. The blue and black areas were also quilted using matching thread.

Catching up on Completed Projects - Baby Quilts

I can't believe how long it's been since I've posted on my blog.  Shame on me!  Here are some pictures of the quilts I've completed since April.

First the baby quilts. My "niece" Veronica and her friends were having babies.  The first quilt was for her, in colors to match her nursery.

Even though the chevron pattern in the other quilts is the same, each was quilted differently.

More to come!
