Not a Wedding Dress Quilt - This One's For Me!

It's been a white since I've made a quilt that wasn't a Wedding Dress Quilt.  Now that I have an embroidery machine, I wanted to combine embroidery and machine quilting in a quilt.  I am so happy with the result.  The off white blocks are satin, and I used several different quilting designs in the blocks.

So glad I get to keep this one!

Wedding Dress Quilts for Jenn and Bonnie

Jenn sent me her wedding dress, which had a blue sash, along with her bridesmaid's pink sash.  I incorporated the sashes into narrow borders, and the rest was the very pale dusty pink taffeta dress.  Her wedding was on the beach, so I incorporated shells into the quilting motif.

Bonnie had a beautiful embellished bodice on her wedding dress and a lace train.  The center panel of the quilt was covered in lace from her train, then I put the bodice as the center focal point of the quilt. The second photo shows the detail in the center.  The inner border of the quilt had a beautiful lace border, and the outer border lad lace motifs.

Wedding Dress Pillow and Two Quilts in honor of Mothers

Brad asked for a pillow made from his mother's wedding dress, to be used in his own wedding.  I used lace from the dress on the front, and put his parents' names, date and wedding picture on the back.

Terri wanted me to make a quilt from her lacy, ruffled wedding dress, and incorporate her mother's favorite tee shirts.  Although unusual, I think the end result is really pretty.

Meryl asked for a ruffle, and wanted their names and date embroidered in the center of the quilt.  She also wanted to include fabric from the dress her mother wore in the wedding.  The lace from her dress was used for the center "wreath" and one of the borders.
